Public Speaking for Musicians

A 90-minute workshop to help students craft speaking elements that build authentic connections among perfomer, audience, and repertoire.

First presented at the Juilliard School for music students.

The Creative Listener

A 6-week appreciation course connecting classical music to other art forms like pianting, dancing, acting, and writing through core elements like phrase, color, gesture, and cadence for an interdisciplinary and more creative approach to listening.

First taught at the Juiliard School, Extension Division.

"Speaking" on Your Instrument

A 5-week course or 1-hour survey exploring text's relationship with musical expression, asking what instrumentalists can gain from delving into the specificity of language.

Taught at the Juilliard School and for the New Jersey Flute Society.

Intro to Musical Storytelling

A 5-week course exploring musical storytelling concerts formats and techniques to enhance geniuine connection between audience and performers, and give tools for musicians to creatively communicate the vision behind their artistry.

First taught at the Juilliard School, Prepartory Division.
